Hey guys! So today I have a special guest to talk about the Rodan + Fields skincare brand.
I asked Erin to introduce herself a bit, and tell you guys about her personal Rodan + Fields experience.
E: I am a management accountant by day & a Rodan + Fields consultant on the side. I had previously been a customer for just under a year, loved my results & realized I had an opportunity to make some extra money with R + F. I have student debt – so an opportunity for extra income on my own time was a no brainer for me. They are now a billion dollar company, 100% female owned & not tested on animals so it was an easy brand to get behind.
Now that you know a bit about Erin, let’s begin with the Q&A. Also, so that you don’t get confused, E is for Erin’s answer and M is for Mali’s question.
M: How do you find your skin type, and what are the different skin types?
E: I have combination skin – so oily in some parts (t-zone) and dry in others. Early into my 20s my skin started to show signs of aging – dull, loss of elasticity, fine lines & dark puffy eyes. I use the redefine regimen & eye cream & have LOVED my results. I feel confident in my skin & now go (mostly) makeup free.
There are many different skin types & skin concerns most of which R +F has a solution for. Our regimens are primarily targeted to treat:
- Fine lines, wrinkles, aging – Redefine
- Dullness, dark spots, uneven skin tone – Reverse
- Adult acne – Unblemish
- Sensitivity, redness- Soothe
The approach is different for everyone. Some people might need a combination of two regimens where as others only one. We use a solution tool developed by the owners of the company & Princeton trained dermatologists to recommend products best suited to treat your specific skin concerns and skin type. Someone with adult acne & naturally dry skin may need a different approach than someone with acne and naturally oily skin for example.
M: What if you have dry skin in the winter and oily skin in the summer?
E: Good question! Regimens typically last 3 to 4 months so you have a couple of options. You can either use one regimen in the winter to help with sensitivity & another in the summer to help with the appearance of oily skin. OR you can use what we call a two pronged approach – which is one regimen in the morning & a different in the evening that would combat both problems.
You also might need to use a combination of regimens at any given time – for example some clients use the Unblemish regimen but add in the sensitivity treatment from the Soothe line as well when needed. It really is different for everyone, but that is what is so great about R + F – you get that personalized experience from a consultant that will ensure you get the best results possible.
M: What is the most important step in your skincare routine?
E: There is no “most important” step. The truth is – when it comes to skin care, each step in a regimen is designed to work together with the others. A good example is to compare it to baking – would you make a recipe without adding all the ingredients & expect the result to be the same? No. Regimens work best when used as directed, with each step equally as important as the one before and the one after.
M: Now as a cruelty-free blogger, you know I have to ask this question. Is Ronan + Fields tested on animals?
E: NO! In this day and age there is absolutely no need to animal testing & R + F is committed to that practice.
M: How do you know which Rodan + Fields regimen is going to work best for you?
E: That is what I am here for – myself, & the large network of consultants with R + F that is. We know all the products really well & have been given the tools to recommend the right ones for you. We ask you a series of basic questions and from that formulate a solution to get you the best results. Another big bonus is that you can try any of our products risk free within 60 days. You just have to return the empty bottles & you will receive a full refund OR – we can recommend a different approach at no cost to you.
M: How long does it usually take to start seeing results after starting a regimen with Ronan + Fields?
E: The baseline for determination of success is 60 days minimum. However – you should notice a change within 3 to 4 weeks. This varies from person to person and also product to product. The best way to see subtle changes is to take a before picture & then one every week after that. The difference will amaze you!
